A Game
Changer
Creating a medical brand from scratch
Convexity Scientific created a breakthrough, pocket-portable nebulizer that completely disrupted the nebulizer category. They needed a name, a brand, a package, and other materials. BrandSmyth was asked to envisioning a new brand from scratch. We recommended building a brand that was clean, approachable, hip, advanced, and trustworthy.
An extensive naming study was conducted ultimately landing on the Flyp name. In the logo study, we brought this name to life and infused it with emotional purpose. We wanted consumers who bought this product to feel empowered to transform their treatment and their lives. Many of the visual devices depicted change and overcoming the status quo.
Identity exploration
We created dozens of logos that explored different mnemonic symbols. Each logo create a unique visual persona and told a story with its energy and character.
Final brand elements
The final identity contained several key messages to the viewer. The checkmark gave confidence in the brand and it’s dimensional ‘flip’ communicated transformation and turning their lives around for the better. This element was extracted and used in other communications as a design element. It also informed sub-brands like Flyp HypersonIQ.
Consumer box experience
A key area of focus was making the box-opening experience delightful and engaging. We explored numerous structures and ultimately landed on a small, soft-touch box with a magnetic closure. Our new box welcomed consumers and helped them feel special and confident in how easy their start up experience with Flyp the nebulizer would be.
Packaging graphics
Once the package structure and box opening experienced was defined, we developed friendly, confidence-building graphics to seal with deal with consumers.
Final package
The finalized packaging gave consumers a wonderful and exciting box-opening experience. Helpful instructions and benefits helped them get the most out of their new device.
